Bramble is a field index of the open web — a manually maintained log of websites organised into 22 territory sections. It was built on a simple premise: that the web is easier to navigate when someone keeps an honest record of what is out there.
The 831 entries in Bramble span a wide range of territories, from automotive parts suppliers and dental clinics to cryptocurrency platforms and adventure travel operators. Each section has its own page with a full list of logged outposts, a brief field note on the territory, and a longer guide for anyone wanting more context before they set off.
Submissions are open and free. Any operator of a legitimate web presence can file their outpost using the Add a Site form. Entries are reviewed before they go into the log — not to gatekeep, but to keep the record clean. Spam, placeholder sites, and domains under construction are held back until they are ready.
The index is updated on a rolling basis as new submissions arrive. There is no publishing cycle, no editorial queue, and no cost to appear in it. If your site is not here, the form is the way in.
Bramble does not claim to be comprehensive — the open web is too large and too fast-moving for that. What it does offer is a well-tended, browsable record of real outposts across a broad range of sectors, maintained without commercial favour or editorial bias.
